Regular Season Round 7: Hotshots - Rain or Shine 72-75

The most exciting game of round 7 in the PBA took place in Pasig City. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Hotshots (6-3) to fifth ranked Rain or Shine (6-4) 75-72 on Friday evening. Rain or Shine dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hotshots' 32. Strangely Hotshots outrebounded Rain or Shine 52-36 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Javee Mocon (193-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Leonard Santillan (195-96) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Ian Paul Sangalang (201-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hotshots players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rain or Shine moved-up to third place. Hotshots at the other side keep the second position with three games lost.
