Regular Season Round 3: Terrafirma Dyip - Hotshots 83-105

PBA top team - Hotshots (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Terrafirma Dyip (0-4) in Makati City 105-83. Hotshots outrebounded Terrafirma Dyip 41-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Terrafirma Dyip was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Andy Barroca (176-88) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Hotshots players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American guard Roosevelt Adams (196-98, college: Idaho Coll.) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and guard Juan Tiongson (178-91) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hotshots have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Terrafirma Dyip at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Blackwater Elite. Hotshots will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Terrafirma Dyip will play on the road against Rain or Shine (#3) in Manila and hopes to get finally their first victory.
