Regular Season Round 21: Champville - Anibal 131-49
Date: June 5, 2021
Bottom-ranked Anibal (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 131-49 loss to fourth ranked Champville (9-4) in Dik El Mehdi. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 98 of its points in the paint compared to Anibal's 34. Champville forced 39 Anibal turnovers and outrebounded them 51-39 including 21 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 36 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Anibal's players. It was a good game for the former international guard Joseph Chartouny (190-94, college: Marquette, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, 14 assists and 7 steals. The former international power forward Jad Bitar (204-88, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Champville players scored in double figures. Champville's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ghassan Tacca answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and Christopher Maalouf added 15 points in the effort for Anibal. Champville have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Atlas. Anibal at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost.
