Regular Season Round 20: Gifu - Toyoda Gosei 84-87

Seventh-ranked Gifu (12-26) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Toyoda Gosei (20-16). The visitors from Aichi managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected easier game. Toyoda Gosei dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Gifu's 44. They outrebounded Gifu 45-22 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Toyoda Gosei players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds and the other American import center Bradley Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 17 points and 18 rebounds during the contest. American forward Worth Smith (198-93, college: Navy) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and guard Yuta Masumoto (190-97) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gifu players scored in double figures. Toyoda Gosei have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 20-16 record. Gifu lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 26 games lost. Toyoda Gosei's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi Aisin AW.
