Regular Season Round 20: Tokyo HT - Saitama 77-74

Eleventh-ranked Saitama (5-31) was very close to win a game against eighth ranked Tokyo HT (12-20) on Friday. Tokyo HT managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. Masaya Ueda (177-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Burkinabe center Niyokwizera Yves (199-93) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Keita Shinkawa (183-95) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Saitama. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Tokyo HT moved-up to seventh place. Loser Saitama stay dead last with 31 lost games. Tokyo HT will face Kagoshima (#10) in Renova in the next round. Saitama will play at home against Shizuoka and hope to win that game.
