Regular Season Round 62: Chiba J. - Hitachi SRT 104-83

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (38-21) were outplayed on the road by second ranked Chiba J. (43-14) 104-83 on Monday. Chiba J. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Sunrockers' 34 and made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Chiba J. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Hitachi Sunrockers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: UConn) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Five Chiba J. players scored in double figures.
