Regular Season Round 60: Chiba J. - Alvark T. 111-109

Sixth-ranked Toyota Alvark (32-23) made lots of trouble for third ranked Chiba J. (40-14). Chiba J. managed to secure only two-point victory 111-109. However their fans expected easier game. Chiba J. made 29-of-34 charity shots (85.3 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) replied with 27 points and American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Five Chiba J. and four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Chiba J. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 40-14 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi B. Toyota Alvark lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 23 games lost. Chiba J. will play against league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota Alvark will play at home against Yokohama BC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
