Top ranked Ryukyu GK (39-15) recorded its fifteenth loss in Nagoya on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Diamond Dolphins (32-24) 93-88. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Ryukyu GK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) who scored 27 points and 7 assists. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) chipped in 27 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains fourth position with 32-24 record. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top place with 15 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
