Very expected game in Saporro where 10th ranked Hokkaido L. (14-44) was crushed by fifth ranked Toyama G. (38-20) 99-68 on Saturday. Toyama G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hokkaido L.'s players. It was a great evening for Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Hayato Yamaguchi (194-98) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyama G. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Hokkaido L. lost their twelfth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 44 games lost. Toyama G. will have a break next round. Hokkaido L. will play again at home against Toyama G. (#5) and hope to win that game.
