Rather predictable result in Kanagawa where second ranked Toshiba Thunders (42-16) smashed 6th ranked Toyota Alvark (32-22) 92-72 on Wednesday. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Toyota Alvark's players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. Defending champion maintains second place with 42-16 record having just eight point less than leader Tochigi B. Loser Toyota Alvark keeps the sixth position with 22 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in Tokyo in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play on the road against Chiba J. and hope to win that game.
