Regular Season Round 58: Hitachi SRT - Hokkaido L. 98-83

Everything went according to plan in Tokyo where third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (38-19) won against 10th ranked Hokkaido L. (14-43) 98-83. Hitachi Sunrockers players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a very good performance for American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Nakano Tsukasa (184-96) replied with 19 points and guard Daichi Kuzuhara (187-96) added 13 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 38-19 record having just six point less than leader Tochigi B. Hokkaido L. lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 43 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against league's second-placed Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play at home against Toyama G. (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
