Not a big story in a game when 4th placed Kagawa FA (27-28) lost on the road to second ranked FE Nagoya (34-21) 89-83 on Saturday. FE Nagoya looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. FE Nagoya's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kagawa FA. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for FE Nagoya. They maintain second place with 34-21 record having seven points less than leader Gunma. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the fourth position with 28 games lost. FE Nagoya will face again Kagawa FA (#4) in Takamatsu in the next round.
