Rather expected game in Kirkuk where 12th ranked Al Hilla (1-13) was defeated by ninth ranked Nift Al-Shamal (4-10) 89-83 on Tuesday. Nift Al-Shamal held Al Hilla to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Strangely Al Hilla outrebounded Nift Al-Shamal 37-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Brwa Hama Saeed who helped to win the game recording 24 points and guard Bahaa Sabri (170-95) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward AlaA Abed (195-87) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Mohammed Abbas (178-1) scored 29 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Nift Al-Shamal maintains ninth position with 4-10 record. Al Hilla lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Nift Al-Shamal are looking forward to face higher ranked Al-Tadamoun (#7) in Najef in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Hilla will play on the road against Zakho (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
