An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mito. Second ranked Ibaraki R. faced 4th ranked Sendai 89ers. Host Ibaraki R. (38-13) defeated guests from Sendai (31-22) 104-86. Ibaraki R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: OK State) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibaraki R. have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 38-13 record behind leader Gunma. Sendai 89ers at the other side keep the fourth place with 22 games lost. Ibaraki R. will play against Koshigaya A. (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
