Regular Season Round 55: Kawasaki BT - Chiba J. 80-73

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toshiba Thunders (38-16) beat 5th ranked Chiba J. (34-14) in Kanagawa 80-73. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Chiba J.'s 24. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) added 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 38-16 record having just four point less than leader Tochigi B. Chiba J. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. Toshiba Thunders' next round opponent will be league's leader Tochigi B. on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba J. will play against Yokohama BC (#8) and hope to win that game.
