Regular Season Round 8: Hoops - Homentmen 90-55

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Hoops (#3) and Homentmen (#9). Hoops (4-2) smashed visiting Homentmen (1-5) by 35 points 90-55. Hoops dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Homentmen's 26. Hoops forced 22 Homentmen turnovers and had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized French guard Gabriel Salibi (203, college: Northeastern St., agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and Fadi Mogharbel (190-2) who added 19 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) during the contest. Four Hoops players scored in double figures. Karl Zaloum responded with 10 points and 5 assists and Refaat Harb scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hoops moved-up to second place, which they share with Champville and Atlas. Homentmen at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Hoops' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena .
