Regular Season Round 55: Hokkaido L. - Alvark T. 70-71

Tenth-ranked Hokkaido L. (14-40) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Toyota Alvark (30-19) in Saporro on Sunday. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Toyota Alvark's coach Luka Pavicevic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Nakano Tsukasa (184-96) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Toyota Alvark maintains sixth place with 30-19 record. Hokkaido L. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 40 games lost. Toyota Alvark will meet at home Akita Northern Happinets (#7) in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
