The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Okayama as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Okayama smashed 11th ranked Saitama at home 76-51. American forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Tsubasa Kozakai (185-94) chipped in 17 points during the contest. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and forward Keita Shinkawa (183-95) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okayama (21-5) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Saitama lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Saitama will play next round against Toyoda Gosei trying to get back on the winning streak. Okayama will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Iwate on the road.
