Regular Season Round 57: Fukushima - Yamagata 73-91

The game in Fukushima was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Yamagata (27-27) played at the court of 6th ranked Fukushima (24-28). Yamagata did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-73 on Saturday. Yamagata made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Yamagata had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Fukushima was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: UCF) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) with 27 points and 9 rebounds and Bahamas Mark StFort (200-88, college: Warner) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Yamagata. They maintain fifth place with 27-27 record. Fukushima lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 28 games lost. Yamagata will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against Yamagata (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
