Very expected game when 10th ranked Dragonflies (8-40) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Shimane Magic (21-32) 82-67 on Saturday. Shimane Magic had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach Yukinori Suzuki used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) added 11 points respectively. Shimane Magic maintains fifth position with 21-32 record. Dragonflies lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth place with 40 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again Dragonflies (#10) in Hiroshima in the next round where they are favorite.
