Regular Season Round 52: Shiga L-Stars - San-en NP 76-82

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (12-41) defeated on the road 7th ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-33) 82-76. San-en NeoPhoenix players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Hayato Kawashima (186-90) supported him with 16 points and 5 assists. Four San-en NeoPhoenix players scored in double figures. San-en NeoPhoenix's coach Branislav Vicentic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. San-en NeoPhoenix maintains ninth position with 12-41 record. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the seventh place with 33 games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix's next round opponent will be league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
