Regular Season Round 54: Jiangsu D. - Tianjin 94-98

Everything went according to plan in Nanjing where seventeenth ranked Pioneers (11-42) beat bottom-ranked Jiangsu Dragons (8-45) 98-94. Pioneers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 36. Pioneers forced 21 Jiangsu Dragons turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Jiangsu Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Montenegrin forward Marko Todorovic (210-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Taiwanese guard Tingqian Lin (194-99, college: Bryant) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Dezmine Wells (196-92, college: Maryland) replied with 43 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and center Haoran Jiang (206-0) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Jiangsu Dragons. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Pioneers maintains seventeenth position with 11-42 record. Jiangsu Dragons lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 45 lost games. Pioneers' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Flying Leopards in Yingkou and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jiangsu Dragons will play at home against Jilin Tigers (#10) and hope to win that game.
