Regular Season Round 53: Kumamoto V. - FE Nagoya 67-84

The game in Kumamoto was also worth to mention about. Second ranked FE Nagoya (30-21) played at the court of 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (20-30). FE Nagoya did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 84-67. FE Nagoya dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. FE Nagoya maintains second place with 30-21 record having six points less than leader Gunma. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the sixth position with 30 games lost. FE Nagoya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kumamoto V. will play again at home against the league's second-placed FE Nagoya (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
