Rather predictable result in Tokyo where fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (31-17) smashed 7th ranked Akita Northern Happinets (25-22) 98-79 on Monday. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 23 Akita Northern Happinets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Akita Northern Happinets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) helped adding 24 points. Five Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. The former international forward Kengo Nomoto (196-92) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Hitachi Sunrockers. They maintain fifth place with 31-17 record. Akita Northern Happinets lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 22 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face higher ranked Chiba J. (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akita Northern Happinets will play against Toyama G. (#4) and hope to win that game.
