Regular Season Round 20: Pilots - Lioneers 82-132

The most important game in the last round was the one between third ranked Pilots (9-12) and fourth ranked Lioneers (8-15) on Sunday night. Pilots were crushed by Lioneers 132-82. They dominated down low during the game scoring 96 of its points in the paint compared to Pilots' 44. Lioneers forced 21 Pilots turnovers and outrebounded them 68-40 including a 49-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lioneers made 10 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Pilots helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 32 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: UConn) who added 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Lioneers players scored in double figures. Trinidad and Tobago forward Kadeem Jack (206-92, college: Rutgers) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jordan Chatman (196-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Slash Sports) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lioneers maintains fourth position with 8-15 record. Pilots lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 12 games lost. Lioneers are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dreamers in Changhua City in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pilots will play at home against the league's second-placed Dreamers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
