There was no surprise when 8th ranked Kanazawa (6-14) lost on the road to fourth ranked Okayama (15-5) 82-72. Okayama dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 28. Okayama forced 21 Kanazawa turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. American forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Okayama players scored in double figures. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) produced 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Kohei Takahashi (197-96) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Okayama. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Iwate and Aisin AW. Kanazawa at the other side keeps the eighth place with 14 games lost. Okayama's next round opponent will be Tokyo HT (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
