Regular Season Round 11: Okayama - Kanazawa 97-91
Date: March 27, 2021
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Okayama (15-5) beat at home 8th ranked Kanazawa (6-14) 97-91. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Okayama forced 22 Kanazawa turnovers. 36 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Makoto Higuchi (177-92) chipped in 18 points. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) produced 30 points and point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Okayama. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Iwate and Aisin AW. Kanazawa at the other side keeps the eighth place with 14 games lost. Okayama's next round opponent will be Tokyo HT (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
