CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (43-5) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Loongs (17-29) in Taiyuan 119-91. Guandong Tigers made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Loongs turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American MarShon Brooks (197-89, college: Providence) notched 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Mingxuan Hu (191-98) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Even a double-double of 21 points, 19 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks by American forward Eric Moreland (208-91, college: Oregon St.) did not help to save the game for Loongs. Guard HanJun Chang (183-92) added 11 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 43-5 record. Loongs lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 29 games lost. Guandong Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Loongs will play against Guangsha Lions (#5) and hope to secure a win.
