The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou: Golden Bulls (#3) and Guangsha Lions (#5). Guangsha Lions were defeated at home 90-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Golden Bulls made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Guangsha Lions turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Bulls made 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Guangsha Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) fired 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. The former international point guard Qian Wu (188-94) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. American point guard Kay Felder (175-95, college: Oakland) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals and the former international Minghui Sun (192-96) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Bulls (36-8) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain third place having seven points less than leader Guangdong ST. Guangsha Lions at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 20 games lost. Golden Bulls are looking forward to face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guangsha Lions will play on the road against Ducks (#11) in Beijing and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
