Regular Season Round 50: Sendai 89ers - Fukushima 86-88

The most exciting game of round 50 in the B2 League took place in Sendai. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Sendai 89ers (27-20) to sixth ranked Fukushima (22-25) 88-86 on Wednesday evening. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: OK State) replied with 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and his fellow American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 18 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 22-25 record. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 20 games lost. Fukushima are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ibaraki R. in Mito in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sendai 89ers will play on the road against Koshigaya A. in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
