Rather predictable result in Tokyo where fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (29-17) beat 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (13-31) 86-74 on Wednesday. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hitachi Sunrockers. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka E. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the ninth position with 31 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Toyota Alvark (#6) in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
