Regular Season Round 45: Shiga L-Stars - Osaka E. 75-90

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Osaka E. (29-17) defeated on the road 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (16-29) 90-75 on Wednesday. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis gave the chance to play for ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Osaka E. maintains third place with 29-17 record having four points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Hitachi SRT. Shiga L-Stars lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 29 games lost. Osaka E. will face league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
