Regular Season Round 44: Chiba J. - Sea Horses M. 85-87

The most exciting game of round 44 in the B1 League took place in Chiba. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of their close opponent Chiba J. (32-12) to second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (30-15) 87-85 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chiba J.. Aishin Sea Horses made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Chiba J. outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 34-22 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Kyle Collinsworth (198-91, college: BYU) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Chiba J. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aishin Sea Horses maintains second position with 30-15 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi B. which they share with defeated Chiba J. Chiba J. at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Dragonflies (#10) in Hiroshima in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chiba J. will play at home against Niigata A. (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
