Regular Season Round 44: Alvark T. - Kyoto H. 89-93

There was a minor upset in Tokyo where 6th ranked Toyota Alvark (26-18) was defeated by eighth ranked Kyoto H. (14-30) 93-89 on Sunday. Kyoto H. made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) who added 24 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) responded with 28 points and 7 rebounds and Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Kyoto H. maintains eighth position with 14-30 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Toyota Alvark dropped to the fourth place with 18 games lost. Kyoto H. will face higher ranked Shimane Magic (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyota Alvark will play against Akita Northern Happinets and hope to win that game.
