Regular Season Round 43: Nagoya DD - Kawasaki BT 84-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Toshiba Thunders (30-14) against fourth ranked Diamond Dolphins (26-17) on Saturday night. Visiting Toshiba Thunders were defeated by Diamond Dolphins in a tough game in Nagoya 75-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. Diamond Dolphins players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) helped adding 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Diamond Dolphins' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) responded with 20 points and 7 assists and American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Five Diamond Dolphins and four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Diamond Dolphins maintains fourth place with 26-17 record, which they share with Alvark T. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders keep the third position with 14 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will again play against higher ranked Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round.
