Regular Season Round 43: Shimane SM - Shinshu BW 88-95

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Shimane Magic (16-28) lost at home to seventh ranked Shinshu BW (16-27) 95-88 on Saturday. Shinshu BW made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game, while Shimane Magic only scored six points from the stripe. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Shimane Magic was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 31 points and 6 rebounds and forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Shimane Magic lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 28 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Shimane Magic will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
