Regular Season Round 43: Shiga L-Stars - Toyama G. 95-97

Fifth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (16-27) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Toyama G. (28-16) on Saturday. The visitors from Toyama managed to secure only two-point victory 97-95. However their fans expected easier game. Toyama G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Five Toyama G. players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) answered with 43 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toyama G. moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka E. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fifth position with 27 games lost. They share it with Shinshu BW. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
