We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Toyama G. (28-16) lost to fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (27-17) in Tokyo 81-92 on Wednesday. Hitachi Sunrockers made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Toyama G. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. American center Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Toyama G.Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 27-17 record. Loser Toyama G. dropped to the third position with 16 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Niigata A. (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
