Regular Season Round 43: Shimane SM - Sea Horses M. 58-106

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (29-15) outplayed on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (16-28) 106-58 on Wednesday. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Shimane Magic's 26. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 46-26 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Shimane Magic's players. It was a very good performance for American guard Kyle Collinsworth (198-91, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 19 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 20 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Yusei Sugiura (196-95) added 9 points in the effort for Shimane Magic. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 29-15 record having just two points less than leader Tochigi B. Shimane Magic lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 28 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's second-placed Chiba J. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play against Shinshu BW (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
