Regular Season Round 17: Pilots - Fubon Braves 94-124

Very significant was Fubon Braves' (#1, 15-5) victory against second-ranked Pilots (9-9) 124-94. Fubon Braves dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Pilots' 40. They outrebounded Pilots 51-37 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fubon Braves players were unselfish on offense dishing 39 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Pilots' players. Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89, agency: BIG) nailed 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) accounted for 20 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Jordan Chatman (196-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Slash Sports) came up with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Chin-Yao Yao (187-90) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Pilots in the defeat. Four Fubon Braves and five Pilots players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fubon Braves have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-5 record. Pilots lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with nine games lost. Fubon Braves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pilots will play at home against Dreamers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
