Very expected game in Mito where 8th ranked Tokyo Z (6-38) was rolled over by second ranked Ibaraki R. (31-13) 94-68. Ibaraki R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) notched 30 points to lead the effort and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) supported him with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds by American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z. Nigerian-American center Nnanna Egwu (211-92, college: Illinois) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ibaraki R. maintains second position with 31-13 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Tokyo Z at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 38 games lost. Ibaraki R.'s next round opponent will be again Tokyo Z (#8) at home where they are favorite.
