Regular Season Round 45: Gunma - Fukushima 102-79
Date: March 7, 2021
B2 League top team - Gunma (41-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Fukushima (19-23) 102-79. Gunma players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Bahamas Mark StFort (200-88, college: Warner) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 41-3 record. Fukushima lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 23 games lost. Gunma's next round opponent will be Kumamoto V. (#6) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Fukushima will play against Saga B. and hope to win that game.
