Regular Season Round 42: Kawasaki BT - Niigata A. 112-75

There was no surprise in Kanagawa where 9th ranked Niigata A. (12-30) was crushed by third ranked Toshiba Thunders (30-13) 112-75 on Sunday. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 36. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 23 points and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 30-13 record behind leader Tochigi B. Loser Niigata A. dropped to the tenth place with 30 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Diamond Dolphins (#4) in Nagoya in the next round. Niigata A. will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers (#6) and hope to win that game.
