Regular Season Round 11: Bank of Taiwan - Pauian 83-80

Important game to mention about was the one when third ranked Bank of Taiwan (8-14) saved a 3-point victory edging 5th ranked Pauian (5-17) 83-80 on Saturday evening. Bank of Taiwan made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Pauian outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 47-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Pauian was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Zak Irvin (198-94, college: Michigan) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Yu-Jui Chen (185-95) helped adding 11 points. Center Dan Qiao (200-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 24 rebounds and guard Jun-Xiang Lu (188-97) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Pauian players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bank of Taiwan maintains third place with 8-14 record having eleven points less than leader Taiwan Beer. Pauian at the other side stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Bank of Taiwan will play against league's second-placed Yulon Luxgen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pauian will play against the league's leader Taiwan Beer and hopes to get back on the winning track.
