We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Kyoto H. (12-29) was defeated at home by ninth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (10-31) 86-78 on Saturday. San-en NeoPhoenix outrebounded Kyoto H. 45-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) chipped in 13 points. American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San-en NeoPhoenix maintains ninth place with 10-31 record. Kyoto H. lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 29 games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix will have a break next round.
