There was a minor upset in Saporro where their close opponent Dragonflies (7-34) were defeated by tenth ranked Hokkaido L. (11-29) 82-76 on Saturday. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. maintains tenth place with 11-29 record which they share with defeated Dragonflies. Newly promoted Dragonflies keep the tenth position with 34 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face again Dragonflies (#10) in Hiroshima in the next round.
