Regular Season Round 40: Osaka E. - Shinshu BW 86-79

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Osaka E. (24-16) won against at home 6th ranked Shinshu BW (15-25) 86-79 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for Osaka E. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American players dominated also this game. Quite impressive performance for guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osaka E. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 24-16 record, which they share with Alvark T. and Hitachi SRT. Newly promoted Shinshu BW keeps the sixth place with 25 games lost. Osaka E. will face higher ranked Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Shinshu BW will play on the road against the league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and hope to win that game.
