Mahram (13-1) recorded its first loss in Tehran on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Chemidor (12-2) 89-87. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Mahram. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Chemidor made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game, while Mahram only scored ten points from the stripe. Chemidor forced 19 Mahram turnovers. Strangely Mahram outrebounded Chemidor 42-19 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 31 personal fouls committed by Mahram helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian-American point guard Earl Rowland (189-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Mohammad Nikkhah (199-83, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Chemidor and five Mahram players scored in double figures. Mahram's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemidor maintains second place with 12-2 record having just two points less than leader Mahram. Mahram at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
