Regular Season Round 43: Kumamoto V. - Nishinomiya S. 92-95

Fifth-ranked Kumamoto V. (18-23) made lots of trouble for first ranked Nishinomiya S. (27-15) on Sunday. The visitors from Hyogo managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Nishinomiya S. made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Nishinomiya S. had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Nishinomiya S.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) produced a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Nishinomiya S. have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 27-15 record. Kumamoto V. lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 23 games lost. Nishinomiya S. are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ibaraki R. in Mito in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
