Regular Season Round 38: Toyama G. - Ryukyu GK 85-67

Very important is a road loss of first ranked Ryukyu GK (28-11) against fourth ranked Toyama G. (26-13) on Saturday night. Visiting Ryukyu GK was defeated by Toyama G. in Toyama 85-67. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The former international forward Naoki Uto (188-91) scored 17 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Toyama G. players scored in double figures. American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyama G. moved-up to second place, which they share with Sea Horses M. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with 11 games lost. Toyama G. will again play against league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round.
